Passover is right around the corner which means it's time to sign-up for holiday meal deliveries!
We are in need of volunteers to pick up meal bags from the MJCC and then deliver them to ~5 clients in the Portland metro area. This will happen the morning of April 10th and should take about an hour and a half total. You don't need to make contact with the recipients, but you will make a big impact no matter what. Masks will still be required in consideration for our clients.
Important information:
- This event will take place between 10-11am, you will come to the MJCC during a specific time slot, and the task should take about an hour to an hour and a half
- This task might require you to carry heavy bags and walk up stairs (*The bags will not be as heavy as the Thanksgiving Boxes--Matzoh is pretty light after all!)
- You must be vaccinated to volunteer at in-person events with JFCS
Keep in mind when signing up:
- Sign up for a single, specific shift. You can come to the MJCC any time within that half-hour.
- Even if a time slot is full, we recommend joining the waitlist if you are interested, as people's schedules can change before then!
- You have to register for the site to respond to the opportunity.
- If you will be doing this task in the same car as other family and/or friends, please have them register for the Galaxy platform, upload their vaccine card in 'User Files' and write their full name in the response question section of your sign-up. You do not both need to sign up for the shift.
- When you respond please indicate if there is a certain part of town you'd like to deliver to, as we will be making driving routes in advance.
More information will be sent out in the reminder e-mail the week before the event. Feel free to reach out to Volunteer Coordinator, Sammy Monk, at volunteer@jfcs-portland.org with additional questions or concerns.
Thank you!
