New program--see a show and have a meal with a senior!

Description

JFCS is starting a new initiative: A.G.E (Arts.Generations.Eats). This pilot program is designed to help older adult clients participate in often missed socialization and cultural experiences. The idea is for volunteers to attend an art event with older adults, engage in conversation, and then share a meal afterward. The goal is to connect Portlanders of different generations and to combat loneliness. Ideally, volunteers will be between 18-50, but there are no true restrictions!

Do you want to be part of the kick-off event?!

Show: My Fair Lady

Location: Clackamas Repertory Theatre (Clackamas CC Campus - Osterman Theatre, 19600 Molalla Ave. Oregon City, OR 97045)

Date: Sunday, August 11th

Time: Show at 2:30pm with meal after

Driving: We hope volunteers will drive their assigned client to and from the event. We would try to match based on your home location and their home location.

Cost: JFCS will cover the ticket price and the meal for volunteers and clients

If you can't make this event but are interested in the concept, please email me at volunteer@jfcs-portland.org and I will ask you directly the next time an A.G.E program happens.
