Each year, JFCS provides Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Partner organizations sponsor items for the food boxes, which brim with potatoes, a kosher turkey, pumpkin pie, and more. These items are then delivered to community members by volunteers. If you’d like to volunteer your time and energy to make this event special and fulfilling for you and many others, please consider responding to this opportunity. If you volunteer for deliveries, you will drive through the MJCC roundabout and be provided with a list of addresses and the appropriate number of meal boxes. We will also be doing the boxing of the food items in the gym, you can sign up for that here.
Important information:
- This event will take place between 12-2pm, you will come to the MJCC during the 15 minute time slot you sign up for, and the task should take about an hour to an hour and a half
- This task might require you to carry heavy boxes and walk up and down stairs.
- You will need to pass a background check to carry out this volunteer opportunity
Keep in mind when signing up, please read:
- Sign up for a single, specific shift. Pull into the MJCC circle during the 15 minutes you are assigned. If you sign up for more than one shift, I will assume you want more than one route, and therefore 8 meal boxes to deliver
- Even if a time slot is full, we recommend joining the waitlist if you are interested, as people's schedules can change before then!
- In the 'response notes' when signing up, please note the neighborhood you live in or would like to deliver to. I will match you with clients nearby
- You have to register for the site to respond to the opportunity.
